Experts wary of Tory community buyout idea

Community development experts have cast doubts on Tory proposals for a community right-to-buy scheme after it emerged that a similar initiative in Scotland has led to a handful of buyouts.

They said that as outlined, the Tories' pledge to give third sector bodies powers to buy and run local assets such as pubs and shops would encounter the same complications...
