Road building costs 'almost double'

The cost of the government's road building programme has nearly doubled to £8.12bn, according to a report from The Campaign for Better Transport.

Initial estimates suggested the programme would cost £4.45 billion, but this is now predicted to cost up to 83% more than first thought, and could cost the taxpayer as much...
