Kelly announces £6bn transport funding

Measures to get better use out of congested roads will be supported by £6 billion of government funding, transport secretary Ruth Kelly has said.

Eight areas - Bristol, Greater Manchester, Leicester, London, Merseyside, South Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear and the West Midlands - will share the first £6 million allocation from the Urban Congestion...
