£750,000 for urban parish councils

Communities secretary Hazel Blears has pledged £750,000 of government support to create a new generation of urban parish councils.

Hazel Blears announced the move yesterday, saying that funds would be transferred to the National Association of Local Councils (Nalc) to help communities establish new assemblies, particularly in urban areas....
