The House of Lords has refused to hear an appeal against the Peak District National Park Authority's enforcement action at Backdale Quarry.
The judges said landowner Bleaklow Industries and operator MMC Midlands' case was already the subject of a judicial decision. The ruling follows the Court of Appeal's restoration of an inspector's decision to uphold the park's enforcement action against excessive limestone extraction at Backdale in March.
