Closing statements read at public inquiry this week

Planning, 26 June 2009

Closing statements will be read at the public inquiry into the Mersey Gateway Bridge earlier than expected this week after the Environment Agency and Natural England withdrew their objections last week (Planning, 19 June, p4).

Halton Borough Council leader and Mersey Gateway executive board chairman Tony McDermott said: "We are confident that we have put the best possible case to the inspector."
