English Partnerships
Introduction
English Partnerships is the national regeneration agency helping the Government to support high quality sustainable growth in England. English Partnerships helps to create communities where people can afford to live and want to live and supports the urban renaissance by improving the quality of our towns and cities. In 2009, English Partnerships will become part of the Homes and Communities Agency - the body which will drive forward the Government's plan for delivering three million new homes by 2020 and ensure the creation of thriving communities through regeneration and renewal.
Employment opportunities
As part of our ongoing commitment to bring new people into the industry, we are looking for some exceptional people to work with us on the fourth intake of our Graduate Development Programme.
The programme offers successful candidates the opportunity to spend two years training with us, gaining valuable insights into all aspects of what we do. Trainees will learn about and have hands-on experience of many different areas of regeneration including urban design, housing, planning and community consultation, as well as contributing to high profile work such as the Government's sustainable communities and housing agenda. What is also special about this programme is that it offers the opportunity to complete placements of up to three months in other regeneration organisations from both the public and private sectors.
Recruitment will start in Autumn 2007 and we are interested in graduates with a good academic record and a demonstrable passion for regeneration. Candidates must also be self-motivated, completely flexible to relocate several times during the programme and demonstrate strengths in:
- Analysis and decision making;
- Business perspective;
- Working in partnership;
- Communicating and influencing;
- Delivering results;
- Continuous improvement; and
- Driven to succeed.
Training and career development
We work to ensure that all staff have the prerequisite knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet English Partnerships' business needs and that allow staff to be the best in their field of expertise. We aim to offer staff the opportunities to develop to their full potential in their roles. So while the above development programme is for new graduates, we offer other programmes of learning to our more experienced staff. These include the ‘Excellence in Leadership Management' programme for Senior Managers, the ‘Regeneration Specialists' programme, the ‘Women into Management' programme, a variety of courses in our Learning Works training programme and also our Career Development Strategy which allows all staff to broaden their skills for the future.
Employment policies
English Partnerships recognises that valuing diversity helps us to achieve our mission ‘to support the Government in the delivery of high quality sustainable growth in England' and aims to promote a culture that positively supports diversity. We are working with PATH, a positive action organisation and welcome applications from everyone regardless of gender, age, religion, race, disability or sexual orientation.
