Senior official to discuss new levy

Regeneration & Renewal, 25 April 2008

A senior government official is to deliver an address on the proposed new development tariff at this year's Regeneration & Renewal national conference.

Miles Gibson, deputy director at the Department for Communities and Local Government's planning directorate, is to speak on how the Government's planned Community Infrastructure Levy would work in practice.

Speaking alongside British Urban Regeneration Association chief executive designate Michael Ward, Gibson will also explain how existing planning tariffs are implemented.

Gibson joins local government minister John Healey, who will deliver the keynote opening address, and Sir Bob Kerslake, chief executive designate of the planned Homes and Communities Agency.

The national conference is taking place in London on 22 and 23 May. Prices range from £79 to £962. For details, visit www.regenerationannualconference.com.
