Cross-cultural event to be held in Liverpool
Regeneration & Renewal, 25 April 2008
A conference to discuss how diverse communities can cooperate productively rather than living parallel or antagonistic lives is to take place in Liverpool on 1-3 May.
The Intercultural Cities conference forms part of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008.
Confirmed speakers include Keith Khan, head of culture for the London 2012 Olympics, and Ilda Curti, political head of integration in Turin, Italy. Lord Bhikhu Parekh, professor of political philosophy at the University of Westminster and chair of the Runnymede Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain, whose report, the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain, was published in 2000, will also speak.
