The Rt Hon Peter Mandelson, the new business secretary, has been confirmed as the headline speaker at Regeneration & Renewal's Northern Regeneration Summit, which takes place on 22-23 October.
Mandelson made a dramatic return to government last week as part of Prime Minister Gordon Brown's cabinet reshuffle, replacing John Hutton MP as business secretary. (Regen.net October 10 2008)

The Summit takes place alongside the free-to-attend Northern Regeneration Exhibition. This is designed to bring together public and private regeneration players in the North, and will feature stands from more than 50 organisations. The exhibition features a free workshop programme aimed at developers, housing associations and investors, plus additional sponsored workshops.
More than 1500 people attended the combined events last year, more than half of them from the private sector, and the organisers are predicting an equally busy event this year.
