Legendary pop band Madness have become embroiled in an unlikely row after they were handed a briefing document before a charity gig last week in Bridgwater, Somerset, which described the town as a den of "incest" and "drug murders".

Craig Fotheringham, 30, is a development surveyor with EDI Group, a private development company wholly owned by City of Edinburgh Council. He is working to regenerate one of the city's most deprived areas, Craigmillar, through EDI's joint venture company Parc Craigmillar.
