MOVES: Appointment at Urban Initiatives

Urban Initiatives has appointed Suzanne du Toit as a senior urban design consultant. She has more than ten years experience in urban design and regeneration. The firm has also promoted Hugo Nowell to associate. Nowell, a landscape architect and urban designer, joined Urban Initiatives in 2003.

Philip Bullock has joined Faber Maunsell's Warrington office as a consultant. He moves from the University of Sydney's Institute of Transport Studies, where he worked as senior research analyst. Robert Major has joined the firm's Newcastle office as a senior consultant and Mark Chadwick has joined the St Albans office as a principal consultant.

Brian Hamilton has joined Entec's Reading office as an associate director. He will focus on planning projects in the south of England. Hamilton joins from the Babtie Group, where he was responsible for a variety of waste and minerals planning projects.

Alistair Speedie, group manager of strategic planning and transportation at Dumfries and Galloway Council, has been appointed chairman of the Timber Transport Forum. He succeeds Ian Forshaw.

Tim Chapman has joined the new NHS London Healthy Development Unit as deputy head. The unit aims to significantly improve the health of Londoners by helping to create sustainable and healthy communities across the capital. Chapman previously worked for the Association of London Government as principal planner.

Graham Sadler has been appointed as a development director by the Leicester Regeneration Company. Sadler has experience of working on major regeneration schemes in his previous roles in South Yorkshire. Steve Compton has also joined the company as a development manager. Compton moves from Advantage West Midlands, where he was responsible for regeneration in the Black Country and other areas.
