An extra £47 million could be ploughed into making London a "leading green city", mayor Ken Livingstone announced this week. In a letter to London Assembly Green Party members, the mayor proposed a 2007-08 budget for measures to tackle climate change, including £8 million to increase buildings' energy performance, £8 million for energy-efficient technology in transport and a further £16 million for cycling.
