Resolution Property acquires site in Truro city centre

Resolution Property has acquired a 1.8ha site in Truro city centre for a mixed-use scheme. Working with Simmons Developments and Carrick District Council, Resolution will draw up a masterplan to create 28,000m2 of retail space and 7,000m2 of offices as well as residential, leisure and car parking facilities at the Pydar Street site.

Leicester residents have backed plans for a revamp of the city's waterfront. Nearly 85 per cent of people who responded to Leicester Regeneration Company's proposals supported the plans. The regeneration company wants to improve pedestrian and cyclist access to the river and canal area from the Holiday Inn northwards to St Margaret's Way.

The furore over the proposed extensions to the ports of Shell Haven, near London, and Teessport on the Tees (see Analysis, p14) is a direct product of poor policymaking. It is highly unlikely that both the northern and the southern plans can go ahead and both be viable, and the Department for Transport has already said that it is minded to allow Shell Haven.
