Strategy for North West not ready for submission

The draft regional spatial strategy for the North West will not be ready for submission to the government until next January, it has been announced. The strategy was expected to be ready in September, but the North West Regional Assembly, which is drawing up the document, has secured an extension. Assembly leader Derek Boden insisted that additional time is needed so that the strategy can take account of the regional economic strategy, the Northern Way strategy and emerging sub-regional priorities.
