Island Wharf plans submitted

Plans for a five-storey office block at Island Wharf in Hull's Humber Quays are set to be submitted to the city council. The £5.5 million scheme by Priority Sites, a joint venture between the Royal Bank of Scotland and English Partnerships, was announced at property show MIPIM this week. The proposal is a key part of a scheme by urban regeneration firm Citybuild.
Appointment at Lovell

Affordable housing provider Lovell has appointed Debby Tomlinson as training coordinator for the company's London region. She joins from the London Borough of Brent, where she was a recruitment coordinator. In her new role, Tomlinson is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the training of Lovell apprentices and management trainees across London and the Home Counties.

Deal to expand community engagement in Liverpool

A deal worth up to £2 million to expand community engagement in the run up to Liverpool being European Capital of Culture 2008 was signed last week. Liverpool Culture Company announced that utility company United Utilities will be its official community partner for Liverpool 2008. Under the agreement the company will invest in the city's Creative Communities Programme.
Milton Keynes strategy to be drawn up

A strategy to shape growth in Milton Keynes up to 2031 is to be drawn up by a team of consultants led by GVA Grimley. The framework will identify where housing, employment, community facilities and transport will be located after the local plan ends in 2011. The commission for the Milton Keynes Partnership is due to be completed by summer 2006. A steering group including regional assemblies, Milton Keynes Council and nearby local authorities is overseeing the project.
