Members of the East of England Regional Assembly last week welcomed indications that the area will receive a 50 per cent increase in funding for affordable housing. The assembly was considering a letter from regional development minister Lord Rooker sent following the suspension of its support for the East of England Plan before Christmas (Planning, 17 December 2004, p3). Members also heard that 26,201 responses have been received during the consultation on the plan.
