Phil Joyce has been made director of physical regeneration at the Rochdale Development Agency. He was previously head of regeneration projects and programmes at Leeds City Council.

Tushingham Moore acquires

27 April 2007

Property firm Tushingham Moore has acquired retail premises in Liverpool city centre, on behalf of developers Grosvenor, in a deal worth £40 million. The six-storey building has been bought from LaSalle Investment Management as part of the Liverpool One regeneration project. It will become one of the main entrances to Liverpool One, acting as a link with the city's established pedestrianised shopping area.

Cornish wave farm

A wave farm planned for the Cornish coast has won £21.5 million from the South-West of England Regional Development Agency. Wave Hub will cost £28 million to build. While the rest of the funding has been secured, the scheme requires government planning approval.

Investment seminars

Trade body the British Urban Regeneration Association and the People's Regeneration Company, which aims to promote investment in regeneration, are running seminars to encourage the City to invest in the sector. Perry Common homes

Plans to build 200 homes on the Perry Common estate in Kingstanding in north Birmingham have been recommended for approval by city councillors. More than 900 properties have already been demolished on the estate to make way for the new build.

Appointment at CSJ Planning

Great Portland Estates gains planning permission

A mixed-use scheme by Great Portland Estates for a site in the City of London was granted planning permission this week. The scheme at 100 Bishopsgate in East London, designed by Allies and Morrison, offers three buildings including a 40-storey office tower, a public library and retail space.
