Birmingham City Council has seconded Yousiff Meah to the role of head of social cohesion in its equality and diversity division. He will work with the prevention of extremism and terrorism project team at the Government Office of the West Midlands. Meah has been seconded for two years from the post of head of Birmingham Youth Service where he was involved in setting up Beyond Midnight, a dusk-till-dawn programme targeting gang members and other young people.

Appointment at The East of England Regional Development Agency

The East of England Regional Development Agency has appointed Graham Long as head of culture, tourism and sport. Long was previously director of operations for the English National Opera and executive director of planning and resources for Arts Council England. Prior to that he worked in cultural development in positions such as chief executive of South-West Arts.

Ozone option - Nottingham plans include sports facilities and play area
