Joint venture company

The North-East's regional development agency is considering creating a second joint venture company with a private developer to manage more of its property. Buildings for Business, its existing venture with developer UK Land Estates, holds £120 million of property assets. One North-East regeneration director John Holmes told Regeneration & Renewal's infrastructure funding conference that, subject to board approval, another joint venture called Onedin would be set up to generate returns for reinvestment in regeneration.

Salford Quays Towers win approval

An Aedas-designed high-rise scheme at Salford Quays has been approved by the city council. The £105 million manyoo project will comprise four 26-storey blocks, offering more than 1,000 flats, 5,388m2 of commercial space, underground parking and roof garden terraces. Completion is due by 2010.
