Bovis Homes contract

Housebuilder Bovis Homes has won a £40 million contract with Bristol City Council to replace 330 post-war bungalows. The prefab buildings in Hengrove will be demolished and replaced by new council homes. In addition Bovis will build another 670 private homes on 15 sites throughout the city. Prefab tenants will be offered priority status for rehousing.

Appointment at Chase

Developer Chase has appointed Paul Beaman as head of affordable housing. Beaman previously headed the property services division of Three Valleys Housing Association in the East Midlands. Previously, he was Midlands and Southern region area director for building and business services company Carillion.

Appointment at Bellway

Housebuilder Bellway has appointed Graham Clark as managing director of its Orpington-based Thames Gateway South division. Clark was previously divisional land director with the company. He replaces Ted Ayres, who has become southern regional chairman.

The director of Edinburgh's planned tram project has quit at the end of his initial six-month contract with the city's transport company Transport Initiatives Edinburgh (Tie). Andie Harper said the job meant spending too much time away from his home in England. Tie is due to present a business case for the project to councillors this month.
