Appointment at Salford Keys

Felicity Goodey has been appointed as chief executive of a project to develop a hub for North-West media and digital industries in Salford Keys, Greater Manchester. Goodey is currently chair of the Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company, where she has been coordinating the media-city:uk proposal. She will now lead the mediacity:uk project. Goodey has worked for the BBC for 28 years and is a founder director of TV production company Unique Communications Group.
Improvements to a Nottingham shopping street is under way

Improvements to a Nottingham shopping street are under way to make it safer for locals. The city council is investing £200,000 to regenerate Broxtowe Lane. The work, which is expected to be completed before Christmas, includes upgrading street furniture such as litter bins, improving a pedestrian crossing, installing bollards and closed-circuit television coverage and enhancing street lighting.
Envirolink Northwest commissions TEP

The market for environmental technologies and services that may arise from regeneration of land in the North West is to be assessed by TEP. The consultancy has been commissioned by Envirolink Northwest to look at prospects for the market over the next decade. It will canvass the views of the managers of major regeneration programmes such as the Northwest Development Agency, English Partnerships and housing market renewal teams. The study, supported by the Environment Agency, aims to stimulate the regional environmental technology sector. It is due to be completed in November.
DBK Back provides utility management advice

DBK Back is to provide utility management advice on a national scale following its acquisition of Ipswich-based Utility Cost Management Ltd. The construction, property and development consultancy aims to expand the team to a network of eight specialist consultants over the next 12 months. DBK Back hopes that the expansion will generate further growth in East Anglia and the wider South East region for its services, currently covered by the firm's London office.
Sir Robert McAlpint chosen to work on the St Austell town centre

Sir Robert McAlpine has been chosen to work on the £60 million St Austell town centre redevelopment. The construction phase, which will take two years, is expected to pump tens of millions of pounds into the local economy, providing up to 200 jobs. The contractor was selected by developer David Mclean Developments, which is working with the South West of England Regional Development Agency and Restormel Borough Council. The second phase of demolition is now under way.
