Liverpool Vision shortlist

Urban regeneration company Liverpool Vision has announced a shortlist of four firms for the redevelopment of the Kingston House site in Liverpool city centre. Kingston House is a 1960s office building owned by the North-West Regional Development Agency. The shortlisting of HBG Properties, Langtree Group plc, UK Land and Property Ltd, and FG Patten (Holdings) Ltd, in partnership with Eric Wright Group, is the first stage of a two-stage selection process.

Call for help

The team behind a project to create a city park along the River Irwell in Salford is calling for international architects, landscape designers and engineers to help. The Irwell City Park proposal is one of 23 projects shortlisted by the Big Lottery Fund Living Landmarks programme. Salford and Manchester City Councils, Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company and Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council want design experts to develop the plans into an unrivalled design proposition for the final application, which is due to be submitted next May.

The world's first non-tarnish silver was unveiled to manufacturers, designers and engineers from across Europe in Sheffield last week in a bid to revive the city's industrial reputation. Sheffield Hallam University and silver manufacturer Carrs of Sheffield - creators of 'Lustre silver' - say it will boost the UK silverware industry.
