Plans submitted for Plymouth building

Plans for the tallest building in Plymouth have been submitted to the city council. Designed by Architects Design Group for Beckly Court Ltd, the 24-storey, 74m high city centre Horizons project would replace a YMCA building with key worker homes and accommodation for University of Plymouth students.

Developer sought for renewal of Millbay Harbour, Plymouth

A developer is being sought for one of the first phases in the renewal of Millbay Harbour in Plymouth. English Partnerships and development partner English Cities Fund (ECF) are working with the city council on the waterfront scheme, which would revive 11ha of land close to the city centre. ECF will carry out the majority of the development but a number of sites will be available for other developers. The D1 site has planning permission for a mix of 123 flats and townhouses and 1,244m2 of business space.
New Street plans reveal improvements

Business advisory firm Deloitte has hired Philip Holt as a director in its regional development and regeneration group. Holt has more than 20 years' experience managing, developing and delivering regeneration and economic development projects, latterly with PwC, where he worked for ten years.
Appointment at Blackburn with Darwen Council

Blackburn with Darwen Council has named Graham Burgess as its new chief executive, replacing Phil Watson, who is retiring at the end of September. Burgess joined the council in 1998 as executive director for regeneration and technical service areas and is also chair of the national and regional bodies of trades union NALGO and the TUC.

Stratford shortlist

The shortlist of three bidders for the Stratford City mixed-use development in east London has been announced by London & Continental Railways and the Olympic Delivery Authority. The groups are a consortium led by French construction firm Bouygues, one led by developer Lend Lease and a further one led by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Appointment at Derby Cityscape

Regeneration agency Derby Cityscape has named Rob Pearson as a director. The move comes as the body makes a bid to attract at least £1.5 million in investment into the city. Pearson will retain his post of area director of government regeneration agency English Partnerships along with his new role.
Appointment at East Brighton New Deal for Communities

East Brighton New Deal for Communities project eb4u has appointed Graham Page as community safety team manager. Page is a former Brighton & Hove City Council housing manager with experience of dealing with anti-social behaviour. He replaces John Mitchell, who has moved to Worthing Borough Council.
