ProLogis selected by regional development agency

Distribution firm ProLogis has been selected by regional development agency Advantage West Midlands to redevelop the former Sideway Colliery in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire. The project will provide warehouse distribution and business units for small to medium-sized enterprises, creating around 900 jobs by 2010, AWM said.

Liverpool City Council poised to refuse planning permission

Liverpool City Council is poised to refuse planning permission for a planned 440-home mixed-use city centre scheme supported by urban regeneration company Liverpool Vision. Developer Central Regeneration said council officers had recommended refusal of the project after pressure from government built conservation adviser English Heritage, which had threatened to force a public inquiry.

Planning applications for a 'technology gateway' of iconic buildings designed for use by hi-tech firms and business support services in Wolverhampton were submitted to South Staffordshire and Wolverhampton City councils last week.

Plans submitted for Wolverhampton development

Plans for Wolverhampton's £67 million i54 development have been submitted to the city council and South Staffordshire Council. Regional development agency Advantage West Midlands, which owns the Wobaston Road site, lodged the application last week. It hopes to transform 89ha of brownfield land next to the M54 into a major employment site, creating around 6,000 mainly hi-tech jobs by 2020. Planning approval is expected by spring next year.
