MOVES: Newcastle City Council names executive

Newcastle City Council has named John Lee as chief executive of Your Homes Newcastle, the country's largest proposed arms-length management organisation (almo). Currently the council's head of regeneration: community services, Lee has been the almo's acting chief executive for the last six months and will take up the post in April. In his new role he will lead the council's drive to get £348 million additional government funding to ensure its 33,000 homes meet decent homes standards.

The suggestion comes from an interim report of the Allsop review into the use of statistics in policymaking. I've always loved the countryside - walking, cycling, picnics and just enjoying the peace and quiet. I can thank regular childhood trips to rural Shropshire for that. So it was no surprise that I developed an interest in conserving this precious resource.
