REGENERATION BRIEF: Science park for Abbey Meadows
5 December 2003
A science park is being planned to form the centrepiece of a proposed £300 million development at Abbey Meadows in Leicester, next to the city's Space Centre. More than 1,800 jobs and 1,500 homes could be provided, the city council said. The area is partly derelict following the council's waste depot move.
REGENERATION BRIEF: Keele Science proposals submitted early

Proposals for phase three in the expansion of Keele Science and Business Park in North Staffordshire are expected to be submitted early next year after regional development agency Advantage West Midlands appointed David Lock Associates and architects Hulme Upright Manning to masterplan the area. AWM chief executive John Edwards said success of the science park has been "nothing short of tremendous".
REGENERATION BRIEF: Lichfield Council and AWM choose Redrow

Lichfield District Council and Advantage West Midlands (AWM) have chosen developer Redrow to regenerate the partly derelict City Wharf site. It will develop more than 100 homes and 3,700m2 of offices. AWM's director for Staffordshire Marie Greer said: "City Wharf has been heralded as the prime development area in Lichfield. Improving this site isn't a luxury, it's a necessity for all the surrounding communities."
REGENERATION BRIEF: Halcrow to masterplan docks redevelopment

A design team led by consultant Halcrow is to masterplan a £500 million redevelopment of Hartlepool docks. Around 80ha of port land is available adjacent to the town centre. Hartlepool Borough Council and regional development agency One North East hope to create more than 1,000 jobs in the area through business, leisure and housing developments. Other team members are Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Storeys SSP and Turner and Townsend.
