Three wind farms - whose developers say they will generate enough energy for almost 110,000 homes - were approved by the Government last week. Energy minister Malcolm Wicks said the Gunfleet Sands II scheme in the Thames Estuary, and schemes at Keadby in north Lincolnshire and Thorne in South Yorkshire would together generate up to 215MW.
