The Post Office has confirmed the closure of 101 branches. The firm said that 61 branches in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight would close along with 40 branches in central Scotland, Argyll and Bute, and Greater Glasgow. The Post Office said the closures were in line with government criteria stipulating that 99 per cent of the population should live within three miles of a post office.
