Mersey growth funding announced

The final phase of funding for Merseyside's growth sectors has been announced by the area's sub-regional development agency. The Mersey Partnership's Sector Development Programme has received total funding of £4.3 million from the North West Regional Development Agency, European Objective 1 funding, and private sector sources.
BBC confirms plans to move five departments from London

A new media village in Salford, Greater Manchester, is to go ahead after the BBC last week confirmed plans to move five of its departments from London. Media City UK will be built on a 90ha site in Salford Quays. The development is expected to create space for more than 1,000 new media businesses.
Help for people to access jobs created by the Olympics

A business service has been established to help people living in the five London boroughs hosting the Olympics access jobs created by the event. Boost, funded by the London Development Agency, is intended to reduce unemployment among local people by 20,000 as a result of the Games.
