Outline plans for Cheltenham business park approved on appeal

Outline plans for a 6.4ha business park on green belt land west of Cheltenham were approved on appeal last week. The scheme, promoted by Hunter Page Planning, includes an extension to the Arle Court park-and-ride scheme. Inspector Nigel Payne cited the emerging regional spatial strategy's support for a review of green belt boundaries and a shortage of employment land as very special circumstances.
Plans submitted to bring jobs to Locking Parkland site

Plans to bring 184 jobs to the Locking Parkland brownfield site have been submitted to North Somerset Council. Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology hopes to relocate to the 82ha site, which is owned by the South West of England Regional Development Agency and English Partnerships, by summer 2008. Proposals include more than 5,000m2 of offices, laboratories and customer hospitality suites.

Plans for Temple Quay Central in Bristol have been submitted by Castlemore Securities. The £250 million development features three office blocks, a 12-storey tower and 180 flats. Planning director Eric Hall said using five different architects will ensure diversity. Turley Associates is advising on planning.
