First, news of confusion during the recent committee stage of the Local Transport Bill. Labour MP and transport select committee member Graham Stringer tabled an amendment, proposing that metropolitan district councils should be involved in drawing up local transport plans with the integrated transport authorities that will replace passenger transport authorities. The amendment also proposed that district councils should be able to veto a local transport plan.
