For years the New Economics Foundation has been shaping and promoting economic solutions from the perspective that people and the planet should come first. Two years ago, I read a copy of the think-tank's manifesto on well-being, which seeks to answer the question: what would politics look like if promoting citizens' well-being was one of the Government's main aims? The manifesto's central thesis, that economic growth does not necessarily lead to more happiness and well-being, has now been picked up by Conservative leader David Cameron.
