A former hospital site in Greenwich is to be the location of 400 new homes, half of them affordable, government regeneration agency English Partnerships announced this week. The agency hopes the site will be primarily for key worker homes. English Partnerships acquired the old Greenwich District Hospital as part of its London Wide Initiative portfolio, which is expected to deliver 4,000 homes across London.

A guide to help councils deliver social housing through the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) was launched this week. The pack aims to simplify the process of agreeing contracts between councils and the private sector and will be available to councils invited onto the third round of the PFI programme, which starts in May. Housing minister Keith Hill said that using the pack, "the Government believes faster deals can be attained".
