Everyone aspires to be them, or own them, or bask in the reflected image of coolness that they confer. A panel has been launched to monitor lending to small firms. It will include officials from the Treasury, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and the Bank of England. It will liaise with high street banks on the availability, risk and cost of lending to small and medium-sized businesses.
