Decent Homes programme could improve health

The Government's Decent Homes programme could improve health and save the NHS millions, according to research published last week. A University of Sheffield health impact assessment found that the upgrade of Sheffield housing resulted in 300 fewer accidents in the home each year and a reduction in weather-related deaths in winter. Southwark Council to set up company

Southwark Council is to set up a company to provide renewable and locally generated electricity to the 5,300 homes planned under the Elephant & Castle regeneration scheme.
