A consortium of automotive executives led by Lord James of Blackheath has chosen South Wales as the preferred location for a factory to build DaimlerChrysler's smart cars. Project Kimber is studying unspecified sites with a view to beginning production in mid-2007.
LDA to retain athletics stadium until 2012

The London Development Agency is to retain the National Sports Centre building and athletics stadium in Crystal Palace until the 2012 Olympics. The LDA will either replace the machinery for the centre's swimming pool, or build a temporary pool to operate until the games. After 2012 a new sports centre will be built, it says.
RBS and Transact announces application criteria
