Carole King has joined Atkins in London as a consultation specialist in the consultancy's transport and rail planning team. She was previously a regional planning manager at the Strategic Rail Authority. Mike Kinsey has been recruited by Atkins as a managing consultant in the north. He previously worked for Colin Buchanan.

Shaun Carter has been appointed as managing director at TPS, part of Carillion Business Services. He has worked for Carillion for more than ten years and was previously programme director for Carillion Health. Carter will be based in TPS's Croydon office, where he takes over from Paul Reeder, who joined the firm's Dubai operation last year.
