Business development charity East Belfast Enterprise has been chosen as the preferred developer for a new business centre in the city. Supported by the Department for Social Development's Belfast Regeneration Office, the scheme includes a business incubation centre and rentable workshops and is intended to create more than 90 jobs once completed.
John McAslan and Partners appointed to work on Grow Brighton

Architects John McAslan and Partners have been appointed to work on Grow Brighton, a £100 million city centre regeneration scheme. The design includes a cylindrical 12-storey residential tower, a four-storey library, half an acre of public landscaped space, and another 124 new homes across the site.
Bedford Borough Council appoints MCD

Bedford Borough Council has appointed developer MCD as preferred developer for the Riverside Square scheme in Bedford town centre. The project is intended to transform a site currently occupied by a surface car park into a seven-storey building overlooking the River Ouse. A planning application is expected to be submitted later this year.
R.gen and Maccreanor Lavington selected

Manchester-based developer R.gen and Dutch architects Maccreanor Lavington have been selected to take forward the regeneration of Whitefield in Nelson, Lancashire. The team won a design competition with proposals that include a refurbishment programme to bring more than 100 empty properties back into use, the creation of community facilities, a public square, and 80 new homes.
West Cumbrian Strategic Forum appoints Grant Thornton

Umbrella body the West Cumbria Strategic Forum has appointed business adviser Grant Thornton to help create a masterplan for the regeneration of the area. They will join a team of agencies working together to identify transformational projects and initiatives to boost the local economy.
Appointment at Ilex

Bill Kirk has been appointed as chief executive of urban regeneration company Ilex, based in Northern Ireland. Kirk, currently chief executive of urban regeneration company Sheffield One, will take up the post in mid-June. Kirk was previously a director at the East Midlands Regional Development Agency and a senior development executive at national regeneration agency English Partnerships.
Appointment at Kent Thameside Delivery Board

Kent Thameside Delivery Board has appointed Sally Clarke to lead Employ Kent Thameside, the board's employment and skills programme to help the long-term jobless. She previously managed neighbourhood renewal scheme the Urban Thames Gateway Kent Programme.
