Another six community radio stations have been awarded full five-year licences. They are in Stockton-on-Tees, Chesterfield, Nelson in Lancashire, Cardiff, Cambridge and Aldershot. A total of 99 such stations have now been licensed.

Funding bodies need to do more to help the voluntary and community sector improve its understanding of collaboration, according to the National Council for Voluntary Organisations' Collaborative Working Unit. At a seminar held last week, 60 delegates from VCS funding bodies were told they have a key role to play in encouraging collaboration to ensure funds are used effectively.
