Appointment at London Borough of Hackney

Fiona Fletcher Smith has been appointed corporate director at the London Borough of Hackney. The role will see her lead various teams including transport, licensing, enforcement and waste. She joins from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, where she was assistant director of regeneration and housing strategy.

Appointment at Redrow

Geoff Blake has been appointed land director at Redrow. He joins from Bovis with a remit to source development sites within one hour's drive of the Basingstoke-based office and to find sites for a range of affordable homes.

Appointment at Atkins Transport Planning

Kathryn Kennell has joined the South East team at Atkins Transport Planning as a managing consultant. She will help to expand the company's portfolio of clients. Chris Brady has rejoined the firm's Manchester team as a managing consultant. He will be responsible for providing client focus on the company's private sector market in the north. David Prentis has been appointed as a planning inspector. He will deal with planning appeal work throughout London and the South East. His previous role was head of planning services at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. Simon Rowberry will step in as interim head of service at the council until October when a new member of staff will take over the role.

Appointment at Cheffin

Richard Atkinson will head up the planning team at Cheffin surveyors. He previously worked at Atkins' Cambridge office and has been involved with many infrastructure projects in the region.

Appointment at Hyder Consulting

Hamish Somerville and John Spiers have been promoted to Hyder Consulting's executive board. Somerville is the group water sector director and has been with the company for 30 years. Spiers is group transport sector director and joined the firm in 2002. He has overseen growth for clients including Transport for London and the Highways Agency.

Appointment at NAI Fuller Peiser

Philip Scott has joined property consultancy NAI Fuller Peiser as associate from Broadway Malyan and becomes part of the firm's expanding London planning team. Jonathan Walton has joined as senior planner from Marconi and Laura McKenzie and Andrew Deacon join as junior planners. McKenzie comes from NAI Fuller Peiser's Birmingham office and Deacon has recently completed a course at Heriot-Watt University.

Appointment at Roger Tym & Partners

Nick Skelton has become partner at Roger Tym & Partners' Glasgow office. He has been with the firm for 12 years and is an economist planner. Andrew Clarke from the London office and Bernard Greep from the Manchester office have been promoted to senior associates. Jonathan Aubrey and Naim Pearson from the Glasgow office and Suzanne Asher in London have been promoted to associates. Richard Shepherd has been named senior consultant at the firm's Manchester office.
