European funds to help Londonders

Nearly £6 million of European funds are to be used to help Londoners prepare for opportunities arising from the 2012 Olympics. Led by the London Development Agency and the Learning and Skills Council, the £5.8 million London component of the Greater South-East European Social Fund Olympics Initiative will be used to train people in key sectors such as construction, and to support enterprises affected by Olympic schemes in the capital.

Scheme to build sports facilities in coalfields
