The South-East of England Development Agency has acquired a 82.4ha site at Lee-on-the-Solent in south Hampshire from the Ministry of Defence, it was announced at Mipim. Seeda intends to use the former HMS Daedalus site for a mixed-use scheme based on aviation and marine firms.

An exhibition showcasing the homes chosen for the ODPM's Design for Manufacture contest will be held on 15-20 May in The Building Centre in central London. The competition challenged developers to come up with high-quality designs for homes costing less than £60,000 to build.
Public sector investment programme for Leeds

A £3 billion public sector investment programme for Leeds was unveiled at Mipim. The programme will cover housing, education, healthcare, cultural facilities, regeneration schemes and transport infrastructure. According to the city council, there are £1.5 billion-worth of development schemes under construction in Leeds with another £4.4 billion in the pipeline.
