Government due to publish statistics

The Government was due to publish statistics showing whether it had met its flagship target to cut child poverty by a quarter in the period 1998/99 to 2004/05 as Regeneration & Renewal went to press. It was expected to narrowly miss its goal.
Youth Matters Green Paper follow-up document published

Young people aged 13-19 will be able to bid to councils for cash to improve facilities and activities in their neighbourhoods, according to a follow-up document to the Youth Matters Green Paper published this week. Government to consult on housing overcrowding standard

The Government will consult on raising the statutory housing overcrowding standard set in 1935 later this year, housing minister Yvette Cooper said this week. New social housing built in London with three or more bedrooms will also be increased from 27 per cent to 34 per cent of the total to address overcrowding.
