Voluntary funding package

A funding package of £29 million for 219 voluntary and community sector groups across England was announced this week by good causes distributor the Big Lottery Fund. The money from the BLF's VCS funding programme will go towards projects that aim to improve quality of life, reach out to those most in need and enhance local environments and services.
Farmers consultation programme

Aspirations funding approved

Funding aimed at raising the aspirations, skills and levels of enterprise in deprived parts of the East has been approved by the region's developmnent agency. The East of England Development Agency said the £13 million from its Investing in Communities initiative was designed to build on the success of past programmes such as the Single Regeneration Budget.

Jackson wins contract

Builder Jackson Construction has won a £3.7 million contract in Exning, Suffolk to create a 34-apartment sheltered housing facility for charitable housing association Hereward Housing. The project will be funded by Hereward Housing, charitable trust the George Gibson Trust Foundation and regulatory body the Housing Corporation.
