Merseytram project

Merseyside's passenger transport authority has announced that it will not appeal against a judge's rejection of its funding claim for the Merseytram line one project. Last month the High Court turned down Merseytravel's bid to overturn the Government's refusal to put £170 million towards the route. But Merseytravel says the scheme will remain within the Merseyside Transport Plan for 2006-2011, which will be submitted to Government this month.
