The north-east quarter of Belfast city centre has been selected as the site for a retail-led regeneration scheme. Social development minister David Hanson announced this week that William Ewart Properties had been picked as the preferred developer for the scheme.

Assumptions that mixed-tenure housing developments decrease property prices are incorrect, according to research published this week. Transport minister announces final approval for container port

Transport minister Derek Twigg has announced that he will grant final approval to proposals for a container port in Harwich, Essex. The move follows a public inquiry in 2004, which recommended in favour of the proposals. The ODPM has also approved the plans.
