Appointment at Tees Valley Living

Neil Etherington has been appointed chairman of housing market renewal organisation Tees Valley Living. Etherington, who is chief executive of the Redcar Racecourse Company, takes over the chairmanship from Tees Valley Housing Group chief executive Alison Thain.
Appointment at Colin Buchanan

Hugh Roberts has joined Colin Buchanan as director of planning, regeneration and urban design. He will lead the team responsible for projects including the Belfast masterplan and the M11 sub-regional study for the ODPM. Roberts was previously a director at Atkins.
Appointment at Port of London Authority

Peter Matthews has been appointed to the board of the Port of London Authority. Matthews, whose term of office sitting on the board of the Environment Agency ends this year, also works with the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, the European Water Association and the Society for the Environment.

Aran Barker has been promoted to associate director by Hepher Dixon in London. Natasha Rowland has risen to associate director in Leeds. In Cardiff, Anna Cheney has moved up to associate director while Andrew Boyd and Jon Hurley have become senior planners. James Luntz and Jennifer Smith have been promoted to principal planner in Milton Keynes.

Matthew Anderson has been promoted to principal consultant by RPS Transport in Cardiff. Greg Jones and Neil Marshall have both risen to senior consultant in London. Simon Mason has moved up to senior engineer in Newbury, where John Hillier and Kris McDonald have both been promoted to consultant and Stephen Evans has joined the firm as a graduate.
