Green network strategy for Wrexham

A green network strategy for Wrexham, including Wrexham Industrial Estate and the surrounding countryside, is to be produced by TEP. The draft strategy for Wrexham County Borough Council aims to provide a framework for protecting, developing, designing and managing the area's green space network and to ensure that local communities are well connected with nature. The Countryside Council for Wales has provided funding for the project.

Plans to set up a business improvement district (BID) in Leicester are to be project managed by Landmark Planning. The firm has secured the contract from Leicester Chamber of Commerce and the city council. Once the BID has been prepared there will be a ballot to vote on its adoption.

A strategy to shape the future development of Newry and Dundalk in their role on the Belfast to Dublin corridor is to be drawn up by Colin Buchanan. The study, commissioned jointly by Newry and Mourne District Council, Louth County Council and Dundalk Town Council, will explore the collective strength of the towns as regional drivers of economic development. It will evaluate the strategic case for creating a Newry and Dundalk "twin city" to attract investment, service the needs of the cross-border region and become a destination in its own right.
HBJ Gateley Wareing advises on the redevelopment

Law firm HBJ Gateley Wareing will advise on the £350 million redevelopment of the Woodend, Henley Green and Manor Farm areas of Coventry. The BKW Consortium behind the New Deal for Communities project comprises Keepmoat, Bovis and Westbury Homes. The scheme involves regenerating north-east Coventry with 3,000 homes and community facilities including a leisure centre, shops, workspaces and a country park.
Development brief and delivery plan for shopping area

A development brief and delivery plan for the Brownsover South shopping area in Rugby is to be produced by Community Regeneration Partnership for Rugby Borough Council. The brief aims to show how the shopping area could be improved to bring about a positive social benefit to the whole of the Brownsover community. The work includes a land-use review and consultation with the local community, businesses and other stakeholders. Brownsover South is one of Warwickshire's most deprived neighbourhoods and is in the top 20 per cent of the UK's most disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
Business plan review prepared by Capita Symonds

A business plan review for sports provision in Coventry is to be prepared by Capita Symonds. The consultancy's sport and leisure team will work closely with the city council and Coventry Sports Trust to develop a five-year business plan to help develop revenue generation, efficiency savings and investment opportunities for future service delivery. The plan will support the strategic planning of both the council and the trust.
RPS Transport expands its service

RPS Transport is expanding its services in the North East and Scotland alongside the more established RPS planning and environment teams. The move will boost the transport division's geographical coverage of the UK and will build on operations in Newbury, Manchester, London, Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham. Alan James will head the team as director, assisted by associate John Redding.
Turley Associates relocated

Turley Associates' Winchester office has relocated to Southampton. The practice, which has a network of nine offices across the UK, has moved to one of the city's landmark offices at Brunswick House. The move completes a strategic relocation programme designed to continue the expansion of the business. Ten staff are based in the Southampton office.
