City takes exception to Google snub

Liverpudlians are up in arms about a perceived snub by Google Earth, the website that allows users to view close-up satellite images of any location on the planet Liverpool Vision insists that pictures of the city are more than five years old, despite the site's claims that images are updated every three years. Liverpool Vision planning director Jenny Douglas says: "Google Earth images show roofing work still under way at Lime Street station. This took place between 2000 and 2001." The urban regeneration company wants the site updated to show the transformation of Liverpool's waterfront and city centre. "Google Earth is influential in shaping opinions about places for a worldwide audience," adds Douglas.
